Quezon is located southeast of Metro Manila and it is surrounded by the provinces of Aurora to the north, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna and Batangas to the west and the Camarines provinces to the east. Quezon lies on an isthmus separating the Bicol Peninsula from the main part of Luzon. The province also covers the Polillo Islands in the Philippine Sea. The northern part of the province is sandwiched between the Sierra Madre mountain range and the Philippine Sea. The southern part consists of the Tayabas Isthmus, which separates the Bicol Peninsula from the main part of Luzon Island, and the Bondoc Peninsula which lies between Tayabas Bay and Ragay Gulf. The major islands of Quezon are Alabat Island and Polillo Islands. Mt. Banahaw, an extinct volcano, is the highest peak at 2,188m.

Polillo is an island in the Northeastern region of the Philippine archipelago. It is separated from the island of Luzon by the Polillo Strait. The island itself is subdivided across three municipalities. The municipality of Polillo takes up the Southern part of the island. The Eastern partition of the island is administered by the municipality of Burdeos, while the North is within the jurisdiction of the municipality of Panukulan. The island is also home to one of the rarest reptiles on the planet, the Butaan lizard, a highly endangered relative of the Komodo Dragon.

Cagbalete Island

Picture
Cagbalete Island may at first glance look like just another tropical island beach here in the Philippines. The island's fitting but stereotypical descriptions-- fine white sand, pristine turquoise waters, lush greenery-- may seem no different from our country's  other beautiful islands that boast endless strips of awe-inspiring beaches.

Baluti Island

Picture
Located about three kilometers from the town port of Real Quezon, Baluti island covers an area of about 23 hectares. A wide river separates the island, which is a part of the mainland. Many parts of the island are covered with pine trees, instead of coconut trees. The beach areas are good for swimming. The water is relatively clear and the gray sand is fine. A slight drop-off is located just about 10 meters from the beachfront. It is located off the coast of Real.
